Healing Companions, Inc. is proud to say that over the months and years since 2001 we have done hundreds of events in an effort to educate the public about the possibilities of Psychiatric Service Dogs in treating people with mental illness. Feel free to browse some of our previous events. If you do not see an upcoming event here, that does not mean we are not working on our next one!
If you have ever wondered how you can help your dog deal with stress, come to Jane Miller’s presentation at the Oberlin Public Library on Sunday, November 8, at 2 p.m. She will provide and demonstrate a number of stress reduction/relaxation techniques along with monitoring methods. This is a basic introduction to stress reduction/relaxation techniques covering the definition of stress, eustress and distress. Click here to download event flyer.
On August 27th, as part of a lecture series, Jane Miller gave a live webinar, “Dogs have Issues Too: Helping Dogs Cope with Stress”. It was very well received and addressed a topic not many people think about, stress in our companion animals.
