Are your employees feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, irritable or burnt out? It has been more than two years since the onset of the pandemic, and workplace burnout is at an all-time high. In 2021, the term “The Great Resignation” was coined as more than 47 million Americans voluntarily quit their jobs, an unprecedented number as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Uncertainty, continuously changing workplace environments, and compensating for staffing shortages are just a handful of the stressors employees and their managers are dealing with right now.
An increasing body of research shows:
From employee satisfaction to work-life balance and stress reduction to employee productivity, all these factors are interrelated and have become fundamental business issues. Creating a strong company culture that emphasizes employee wellness has never been more important.
Jane Miller, LISW, AABP-CDBT, works in private practice as a licensed psychotherapist/clinical social worker, with a particular interest in holistic modalities of healing. Based in Oberlin, Ohio, Jane has spent more than 30 years helping people cope with everyday life and general anxiety, heal from trauma, and live productive lives. In response to urgent and unprecedented needs as a result of the pandemic, Jane has developed a workplace wellness program designed to empower employees to cope with and overcome day-to-day workplace stress.
Her workplace sessions integrate proven healing modalities including: breathing and somatic practices (which can be done at a desk), relaxation and stress reduction techniques, guided imagery, visualization, meditation, Qigong, pet therapy, and creative arts. The stress reduction techniques are taught with the workplace in mind –and can be done at a desk in as a little as 5 minutes. Employees will also learn communication techniques that will empower them to effectively express their opinions in a constructive compassionate manner.
The goal of the program is to help people work together as a team, decrease negativity, and increase positive workplace environments that are centered on trust and respect. The workplace sessions are guaranteed to improve employee retention and productivity.
The sessions are completely customizable, intended to serve you based on your needs. We provide primarily virtual presentations and webinars to groups both large and small, in addition to in-person sessions locally within Northeast Ohio. Our presentations are scalable and delivered in increments of 15, 30, and 60 minutes.
Jane has an established history and proven track record of working with various organizations that have benefitted from her work. While she specializes in working with trauma survivors and those with generalized anxiety disorders, her workplace sessions focus on general wellness. Jane’s lifelong passion for healing has emphasized the human-animal connection, culminating in her certification as a Canine Massotherapist and as a Certified Dog Behavior Technician by the Association of Animal Behavior Professionals (AABP-CDBT). Combining her passion for animals and wellness, Jane has helped hundreds of people with serious mental illness through her nonprofit, Healing Companions, where she connects people with mental illness to psychiatric service dogs. She is a published author of the book, Healing Companions: Ordinary Dogs and their Extraordinary Power to Transform Lives.
Jane earned her BA in psychology and biology with a focus on neuroscience from Oberlin College, and her MSSA in Clinical Social Work (Licensed Clinical Independent Social Worker, LCISW) from Case Western Reserve University. She has received the Irene Sogg Gross Award for Humanitarian Services and has contributed scholarly essays for professional journals and anthologies in the field of clinical social work. Her professional experience includes serving as a counselor at a battered women’s shelter and at a group home supervisor for the developmentally disabled, and as a research assistant in microbiology/immunology at Temple University Medical School.
This program is completely customizable to meet each organization’s unique needs. Introductory programs typically involve four sessions (30-60 minutes) offered over the course of one month. Pricing for initial programs starts at $1,000, depending on the content delivery method chosen. Packages can be tailored at any point in the program, and longer group sessions (such as half-day and full-day seminars) can also be provided.
